Caprice might have two babies on the way but she hasn’t had the smoothest of journeys to motherhood.
The model, who recently revealed that she and her partner Ty Comfort are expecting two babies one month apart, has spoken out about her miscarriage.
During an interview with The Sun the 41-year-old said: “We have been to hell and back.”
The couple are going to be parents to not one but two babies this year.
She explained how her and Ty, who has two children from a previous relationship, fell pregnant soon after they started trying: “I’m not particularly interested in getting married but I knew I wanted to have children with him… it was amazing when he said he would love a child with me.
“We started trying immediately and a month later I fell pregnant. We were just ecstatic so we jumped the gun a little in telling some of our family.”
Then tragedy struck: “But then in December we paid to have my first scan at six weeks. The sonographer said there was no heartbeat and maybe I had my timings wrong so I should come back the following week. Four days later I started bleeding and had horrible pains.
“I went to Chelsea and WestminsterHospital in London and they said there were two embryos but no heartbeats – I was miscarrying. The pain was unbearable for two days and they kept me in as I kept fainting. It was just terrible.”
The model is due to give birth at the end of September, a month after her surrogate.
It was then that the couple started IVF before eventually turning to surrogacy when Caprice found out she had a medical condition which meant the lining of her womb was to thin for embryos to implant.
Little did she know that both she and her surrogate were going to end up pregnant and giving birth within a matter of weeks of each other.
Speaking about her excitement about having two babies Caprice said: “Now I just can’t wait to hold both my boys in my arms. Life couldn’t get any more complete. They’re my miracle babies.”
