Jessica Biel gets her claws out with Kate Beckinsale in her new movie release 'Total Recall'.

Biel is about to star in the €160 million remake of Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1990 smash action film, 'Total Recall'.

Irish actor Colin Farrell joins the American star on screen for one of cinema's most awaited-for remakes.

Biel and Beckinsale launch into a full-on martial arts-themed fight as one of the film's most impressive scenes.

Jessica Biel, 30, has admitted she pulled some punches so she didn't smack co-star Beckinsale in the face.

"Kate and I were much more careful not to beat the hell out of each other than if we had done a fight scene with a man," she said.

"Obviously we tried to avoid accidentally punching each other in the face. We were constantly apologising to one another every time one of our punches or kicks actually landed. But I think Colin and the rest of the men on set had more fun watching us go at it."

'Total Recall' follows the story of a factory worker, Farrell, who begins to suspect he's a spy, though he's unaware which side of the fight he's on.

Jessica, who is engaged to singer Justin Timberlake, said she does not want to be known for any one type of film and tries to mix it up a bit.

"I've tried to mix it up by playing in darker films as well as in comedies, which I loved to do, and I think it's much easier for me now compared to when I was doing more photo shoots which helped me get more recognition."

Despite her fiancé falling into acting easily, Biel said she thinks acting is a very competitive business. 'Powder Blue', where Biel acted in her only nude scene, went straight to DVD. Biel has acted in a total of 24 films, including 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre', 'The Rules of Attraction' and 'I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry'.

"It's a pretty competitive business," she said. "And there just aren't as many interesting roles for women as there are for men. But I've been happy with the films I'm doing now and I hope it continues."

The original 'Total Recall' starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone. The budget for the film was €52 million and it was located in Mexico. The remake was filmed in Canada.

'Total Recall' is due for release on August 29th.
