7 fashion trends straight from the runway you’ll want in your wardrobe

Ellen Fitzpatrick

Brb, going shopping.

Fashion month for the Autumn-Winter season has just ended and as we saw some major trends that are coming our way, we’re already planning our new wardrobe.

We may be only switching out our winter wear for some lighter clothes as spring hits, but after everything we saw in New York, Paris, London and Milan, we’re already thinking about the colder weather again.

If you’re looking to become a real life Barbie doll or just want to be exactly like Elle Wood, you’re in luck as Fuschia is the go-to colour for this season.

While head to tow bright pink might not be everyone’s cup of tea, there are plenty of trends you will want to get your hands on, from babydoll dresses to fringing on everything, there’s something for all of us.

Low rise, courtesy of Y2K fashion

With the success of Euphoria, it’s no surprise that this trend is here to stay, and while we might be wary of the low rise making it’s return, we promise it doesn’t look as bad as it did in 2005.

Fuschia takeover

We’ve done the neutral look, it’s time to spice it up a bit and for AW22, head to toe Fuschia is the way to go. Valentino’s latest collection is devoted to this, and definitely has the Elle Woods seal of approval.

Flares

Flares and wide leg bottoms have been on our radar for a while now, and AW22 sees them here to stay but in legging format. Just think of the comfort, with a chic elegant style thrown in with more of a statement being made at the same time.

Hoods`

We know what you’re thinking, hoods? But they’re not what you’re thinking. These slim-fit, knitted numbers and generally will work well with a monochrome look, and are definitely perfect for those days we just don’t want to wash our hair.

Extreme fringing

Fringing is making a comeback but this time, it’s coming back in a big way. When we say big, we mean a mini skirt with so much fringing that it creates a maxi skirt and we’re so here for it.

Babydoll dress

These dresses are a classic and while we’ve been wearing them constantly, they’re back in for the upcoming season. Wide silhouettes, puffed sleeves and mini hemlines and you’re looking for an instantly chic look, turning an everyday piece into something super stylish.

Corsets

They’ve been on our radar for quite some time now but they’re here to stay and are back in a way we’re super excited for. With everything from sheer panels to leather details, this high fashion look can be dressed up or down, perfect for any occasion.
