Aldi is taking on IKEA with its latest homeware collection

Like neutrals? You'll love these bits.

Anna O'Rourke

Allergic to bright, clashing colours? You’ll want EVERYTHING.

IKEA is always our go-to for cute, affordable bits for the house.

But Aldi’s latest interiors collection has us tempted to cheat on our beloved Swedish furniture giant.

The supermarket has come out with some modern, almost Scandi-inspired home accessories in fab muted tones and geometric patterns.

With the change of season, they’re pieces that’ll freshen up any room without the need for loud colours.

Top of our wish list is this retro-look white floor lamp.

It costs €49.99 and would be perfect for the sitting room or by your bed.

We also fancy picking up this adorable crochet-top stool.

One or two of these together would be lovely in a cluster or just a single one would make a cute addition to the living room. They come in three colours – light grey, dark grey and cream – and are €19.99 each.

We’re mad to get one of the €39.99 bean cubes too, either in the marble print or the geometric black and white.

We’ll also be grabbing the marble placemat and coaster set (€6.99) and one or two of the cushions (€9.99 each).

The whole range goes on sale in all Irish Aldi stores on Thursday, 17 May.
