Alert To All Shoppers – Kildare Village is Expanding!

Kildare Village, the mecca for many shoppers looking for designer labels at brilliant prices, has announced that the second phase of their expansion has begun and another 36 new shops are on the way. The project, which will cost in the region of €50 million is expected to be completed next year, with the new boutiques to open in November 2015. The extension to the popular shopping spot, which first opened in 2006, will create 380 jobs in the area along with a further 120 construction jobs. Speaking about the plans, Maria McGovern, Director of Kildare Village said; “The €50 million investment and commitment by Value Retail is a testament to the existing success of the Village, increasing visitation from our global tourism markets and the arrival of new international brands that continue to refresh the retail offer and appeal of Kildare Village." “It will also allow for a captivating mix of new brands which will attract and meet the demands of high-spending international tourists.” When the expansion is completed there will be 100 boutiques in total, along with two new restaurants, a Visitor’s Centre and an additional 437 new parking spaces. More than €2 million people visited Kildare Village last year and it is expected that the addition of the new facilities will attract even higher numbers in the years to come.
