We’re not surprised.
Last year saw some very quirky trends emerge. We had the chunky trainers, the bicycle shorts, the re-emergence of animal print back into the spotlight and of course the skinny cat eye sunnies.
Yep apparently we’re all Matrix sheep because 20,000 of us added a pair to our cart when doing an ASOS shop.
A moment of silence as we commemorate the death of giant sunglasses, please.
Their days were numbered as soon as we heard Kanye’s message to Kim on KUWTK when he declared that big sunnies just ain’t cool anymore. She told Kourtney and friend Jonathan that her husband wrote her an email saying:
“You cannot wear big glasses anymore. It’s all about tiny little glasses.”
Kim continued saying:
“He sent me like, millions of ’90s photos with tiny little glasses.”
And before long, we were seeing skinny cate eye sunglasses all over our Instagram feed. Refinery29 reports that in January alone last year, ASOS sold 10,000 pairs!
