A good bra is really important to a woman. They support, boost and add shape to a woman’s body but did you know that almost one in three of us are wearing the wrong size? Many of us get measured when we are teenagers but how many of us bother to get measured on a frequent basis? A well-fitted bra is vital for good posture and wearing the wrong size can lead to back and neck pain, chaffing and soreness. Here’s our advice when it comes to finding the perfect bra to compliment your assets.

Get Measured Regularly

We can’t stress how important it is to get measured. You know how some size twelve jeans fit you but other brands are too tight? The same goes for bras. Weight loss or gain and pregnancy can alter the size of your breasts and it is best to get measured to make sure you are wearing something that will give you proper support.

Sports Bras Are Just for Sports

Athletes should not be tempted to wear sports bras all the time as the tight hold can damage breast tissue. They are great for strapping your boobs down during a match but should not be incorporated into your regular attire.

Change Your Bras Once a Year 

The daily wear and tear will really take it out of your bras and it is recommended that you girls go on a bra spree once a year. Bin the old ones after twelve months because they will not be as supportive of your assets after a year of frequent use.

Invest in Your Support

It is worth your while spending your money on good quality bras. Cheaper bras are great sometimes but for the most part they do not provide the support that you need every day. Buy plain colours like black, nude and white so that you can wear them under virtually anything. You will get more use out of them than brightly coloured garments.

Try It On

Buying a bra without trying it on is a big mistake and one that we have been guilty of many times. It’s hard to know how the bra will fit your breasts and back without taking a trip to the changing rooms. Never buy a bra if the underwire is uncomfortable or is digging into you.
