Irish celebrity chef and restaurateur Paul McVeigh and Maeve O’Flaherty have just tied the knot amid a gorgeous celebration in Spain.

After saying ‘I do,’ in Palma’s iconic cathedral on Friday, the couple afterwards held a lavish black-tie reception at Cap Rocat, a swish secluded military-fortress-turned-hotel that overlooks Palma de Mallorca’s bay.

In the aftermath, family and friends shared a series of snaps from the spectacular celebrations on social media – including a sneak-peak at Maeve’s head-turning wedding dress.

The dress was simple but completely stunning: a beautiful form-fitting strapless gown, with a sweetheart neckline and a small train at the bottom.

She topped off the look with a ground-skimming veil and a simple bouquet of white flowers.

Paul himself looked dapper in a black tux.

Maeve works at Pfizer as an accountant, while Paul, who previously worked as a personal chef  for Rory McIlroy, co-owns the popular Dublin steak restaurant Featherblade.

And alongside stints in some of the biggest kitchens in the country, Paul previously spent four years working for multi-millionaires as a chef on a number of superyachts.

He was inspired to work on the seas when “the economy went bust in 2009 and there were restaurants closing around me”.

He told the Irish Independent in January 2015:

“I decided that I was young and free and easy, and a friend of mine who was working on the yachts told me that they were looking for a relief chef to cover a trip from the south of France to Abu Dhabi.

“That was my first introduction to it.”
