This couple got married in the snow during Storm Emma and it was beautiful

WOW!

When you’re planning your wedding, it’s tough to know what the weather is going to be like.

But bride and groom Jemma and Steve, who are both entertainers and magicians, just could not have predicted the incredible scenes they were met on Wednesday.

Holding their ceremony at the famous Alnwick Treehouse in Northumberland in north-east England, they embraced the snow – posing up for a series of incredible snaps as captured by talented wedding photographer, Sean Elliott.

Chatting to Her.ie, Sean told us: “Despite the formidable weather, Jemma and Steve had a wonderfully exciting day. There was so much camaraderie; from strangers and farmers giving lifts to guests, to people stepping in last minute – you couldn’t make it up!

“One farmer who gave the father-of-the-groom a lift, had his wheel fall off enroute and ended up getting the Alnwick farming community to help out. The community really rallied round… Steve and Jemma even had the local radio rooting for them!”

Calling the day “unforgettable, Sean continued: “Against the odds, with people snowed in and with some guests who had to travel eventually abandoning their journey, the wedding ultimately went ahead.”

Sean Elliott is a photographer based in the Biscuit Factory, Newcastle. In October, his pictures from a Storm Ophelia wedding went viral – with one of them being listed by Huffington Post as a top wedding image of the year.

Here, with Sean’s permission, Her has produced a selection of the beautiful photographs that were taken on Jemma and Steve’s Big Day. You can find out more about Sean and his work on his Facebook page.
