TK Maxx is a godsend.
Realistically, there aren’t too many shops where you can consistently buy big name brands for low prices.
But even though TK Maxx is in a state of permanent sale, someone has crunched the numbers to calculate exactly when the cheapest time to shop there is.
Joshua Fruhlinger of Thinknum, a website which analyses trends by gathering data from company websites, found that TK Maxx discounts tend to reach major peaks at the very start of the month.
Ideal.
As can be seen on the graph below, there are fluctuations over time, but each major peak comes at the very beginning of a month — with the three of the five best times for discounts coming in early January 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Discounts in January 2017 shot up as high as 52 percent.
However, August is also a good time to be down in TK Maxx, with the rest of the top five peaks coming at the tail-end of July and the very beginning of August in 2016 and 2017.
The graph also shows a clear trend of discounts trailing off before shooting up dramatically, and as we can see, discounts are very low at the end of July this year… Which certainly would make you feel optimistic about the start of August.
