Would you agree?

If you’re planning to stay up late on Sunday night/Monday morning to watch the 92nd annual Academy Awards, then you might be interested to know that a recent study was carried out on the best dress to ever don the red carpet.

Besides the usual blunders and awkward jokes that occur from inside the Dolby Theatre, it’s what occurs outside on the Hollywood strip that has our eyes glued to the screen.

We’re talking the razzmatazz of the biggest stars in the world and their finery.

And over the years we’ve had some iconic looks walk the Oscars’ red carpet. From Audrey Hepburn in Givenchy, 1954 to Cameron Diaz looking like a literal Oscar in Oscar de la Renta in 2010 – there has been some impressive looks that have cemented their place in history.

But one look has recently topped the charts as the most memorable Oscars’ dress of all time.

You’d be wrong if you thought it was Julia Roberts in her little vintage Valentino in 2001 and you’d be wrong again if you thought it was Kate Hudson in Versace in 2003 (although both are extremely educated guesses).

The winner is in fact, Angelina Jolie and her 2004 cream satin Marc Bouwer dress.

A breathtaking gown featuring an unusual but equally stun halter neck design and yeah, it’s a worthy winner.

Angelina walked the red carpet in 2004 solo and then later in the night she took to the stage to present the Oscar for Art Direction to “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”.

Her look was voted most popular by an online survey conducted by OnBuy.com. They quizzed over 3,000 people on their favourite Oscars looks and Ange came out on top. Her look was followed closely by Kate Hudson’s dress mentioned above.

Roll on February 10, we cannot wait to see what lies ahead.
