Swoon.
Getting noticed in the competitive fashion industry is a tough task and having a famous TV personality call you up to personally design a dress sounds like fairytale stuff.
That’s exactly what happened to 25-year-old Shauna Harrison when Vogue Williams decided she wanted a bespoke dress designed by the Grafton Academy graduate.
The pair met up and had a chat with Shauna suggesting a number of different looks for the model turned TV presenter to wear at the National Television Awards.
They decided on a royal blue ensemble, full-length at the back and higher at the front with a stunning layered effect.
It originally featured a detached cape which Vogue chose not to wear, you can see it in the sketch below and can we just say WOW.
Shauna told us that ITV got in touch with her to feature on Gok Wan and Fearne Cotton’s new show and as she said, “it’s all been a bit crazy”.
She quit her job in French Connection right before Christmas and plans on designing full-time from now on.
The Dublin native describes her designs as ‘feminine and elegant’ and next month, she’s opening her own studio so she can schedule one-on-one appointments to make people their dream designs.
Just LOOK at the frothy fabulous tulle creation below.
Individual pieces (haute couture vibes – yes please) are what she’s about and she doesn’t rule out a bridal collection down the line. Rather than follow trends, Shauna works with shapes and textures, resulting in some amazing designs.
Shauna’s sketches are something else (see her Instagram account here) and we’re going to be working with her on a very exciting style project over the coming weeks. Stay tuned…
