This €9 Penneys top doesn’t look like much on the hanger – but it’s stunning on

Anna O'Rourke

You really can’t go wrong with a bardot top.

Anything that shows off your shoulders is a winner in our book – it will flatter and feel sexy but unlike other shapes will still be appropriate for pretty much any occasion.

Penneys is always a good shout for tops like this and we especially love this leaf-print one.

The tropical pattern is perfect for summer and the orangey-red tones will look great against a tan.

The elasticated neckline also means that you won’t feel like you’re in a straight jacket when you wear it; always a bonus.

It may look a little shapeless in the image above but just take a look at it on a model.

We love how it’s styled with beige high-waised trousers here but it would look just as well with a pair of light-wash denim jeans or a white skirt.

For €9, it’s one to keep an eye out for the next time you’re in store.

We know we’ll definitely be picking it up – along with this gorgeous button-up dress (€20).

The colour brown is a huge trend this year, as is anything with utility vibes, so this a piece that ticks off a few trends in one.

It also satisfies our need for stuff to wear both to work and out after – we’re sold.
