As our readers know, we are big fans of Penneys and when asked to showcase their autumn winter range before anyone else, we jumped at the opportunity.
With the entire country experiencing a week of glorious weather, talking about autumn winter seems absolutely bonkers but that’s how fashion works and who are we to argue?
The campaign for the autumn-winter 2018 range, styled by Corina Gaffey, was shot in Glendalough, Co Wicklow and the rugged landscape is the perfect backdrop for a beautiful collection.
There are seven trends for the upcoming season and as you’ll see below, vibrant patterns and bold, block colours are key for AW18.
Urban Eccentrics
Sheer embellished slip dresses worn with nylon puffa jackets (rainbow shades for extra 90s fabulousness). Fun fashion at its very best.

Country Fling
Tailoring is key here but this is far from your standard suit. Think electric blue and mustard yellow plus some checked patterns for a fresh twist on Clueless-esque dressing.

Animalistic
The coat is the hero piece here. Leopard print, calf-length, belted… it’s guaranteed to have people asking where you purchased. Sophisticated toffee tones and neutrals make this the cool-girl trend we’ll all want to sport.

Galactic Rave
Futuristic and shiny, this isn’t for the faint-hearted. High-waisted PU trousers and textured velvet separates, we’re already excited to see how these pieces will fit into our everyday wardrobes. The PU trench coat is another piece that’s sure to cause a shopping frenzy on the high street.

Winter Folk
The borg jacket isn’t a new trend but it’s back and we look forward to embracing it all over again next season. A mention too for the cosy teddy fleeces and knitwear. Knitwear with a difference FYI… extreme funnel necks, sequin zebra prints, tinsel yarn, and fringed styles.

Saturated Brights
Red, coral, lime. This is a trend for a gal who loves colour and the fact that statement shades are returning for autumn winter makes us very happy indeed.

Working Girl
Monochrome but with flashes of colour. Workwear with an edge and as office-appropriate gear can be expensive, props to Penneys for bringing the goods next season.
