Fashion designer says this is the best style of wedding shoe

Cathy Donohue

Getting married soon?

There’s no denying that weddings require a lot of work, even if it is a labour of love, which is why expert tips and tricks come in handy.

The latest one comes courtesy of Emila Wickstead, who counts Kate Middleton among her clienetele, an esteemed fashion designer who recently launched a bridal line.

The ten piece collection is understated, elegant, and timeless, bascially everything we’ve come to expect from the London-based designer who originanly hails from New Zealand.

In conversation with Vogue, Emilia shared her advice for brides, having tied the knot herself in 2011 and accumulated plentiful knowledge about dressing women through her years of creating bespoke designs.

Aside from urging brides-to-be to trust their gut instincts when it comes to choosing THE dress and suggesting two photographers are better than one for capturing all the special moments (over budget much), Emilia also explained the type of shoe she thinks is perfect for under a wedding gown.

She advises ” a closed toe shoe, either with a pop of colour or in the same shade of ivory as the dress.

Her personal fave is “a pointed toe with a thin ankle strap”.

If you’re struggling to find your perfect wedding shoe, you can’t go wrong with this classic style.
