Fashion High Five: Cool Cover Ups – Total Steals from the Summer Sales

A realisation in the Her.ie office this week: You know the summer is ready to wave goodbye when people start talking about the Rose of Tralee.

We can’t complain too much, we got almost a month of glorious sunshine, more than any of us can remember in recent years, so by Irish standards the season has been very good to us indeed.

Another indicator that autumn is quietly ushering its way in is the plethora of summer sales underway.

While it may be tempting to pick up that maxi dress you spotted three months ago for half-off, or some cute flip-flops, your best bet for summer sales is really to keep an eye out for pieces that will take you through autumn/winter too. However, much we as like to tell ourselves that we’ll buy it now and save it for next summer, it usually doesn’t work like that. Instead, we’re concentrating on the cover-ups; the jackets and cardis that will help you stretch out some more wear from the summer wardrobe you had simply by layering up.
