The key to mastering the art of the multifunctional day-to-night dress lies in the material.
Victoria Beckham style dresses nail this look perfectly but for those of us on a budget, the high-street has a great selection of figure hugging pencil skirt and peplum styles.
A muted colour will keep things business like so go for shades of black, burgundy, navy and nude that can be dressed down with thick black opaques and classic courts but can easily be dressed up with killer heels, statement accessories and a slick of bright lipstick.
Anything too shiny or sheer and it will instantly look too dressed up for the office, anything too structured, formal or tailored and it will stand out as workwear.
Just make sure hemlines and necklines aren’t too high and too low respectively – sophistication is the key!
