The talk show host used her show opening on Friday last as a platform to speak out about comments made by the CEO of American clothing chain Abercrombie and Fitch, which went viral earlier this week.
Mike Jeffries made the comments, which included ‘A lot of people don’t belong in our clothes’, and ‘we go after the col kids’ in a 2006 magazine interview, but this week was forced to address the controversy the resurrected remarks created.
LA based writer Greg Karber reacted to the story by creating a movement designed to encourage people to donate their Abercrombie & Fitch goods to the homeless, in a video that has attracted over 6.5 million views in less than a week.
