Gucci teams up with illustrator for ‘tongue in chic’ collection

Niamh Maher

We’ll take all the t-shirts please.

The Creative Director of Gucci, Alessandro Michele, is making waves within the company by collaborating with street artists and illustrators, in their latest offering they’ve teamed up with British illustrator Angelica Hicks to create a limited editon collection of t-shirts.

Angelica is know for her no-nonsense approach to popular culture and she’s already made the fashion world sit up and take notice with her book ‘Tongue in Chic: The Fabulous Fashion World of Angelica Hicks

According to Vogue her Gucci collection touches on “politics, board games, inclusivity and some really silly puns”.

Only 100 of each t-shirt will be made, all coming in a vintage-style metal box.

The fashion house announced the collaboration with a mural in Milan… go big or go home right?

They also decked out a wall in Soho in NYC;

The designs on the shirts feature fun illustrations including “The Gospel According to Gucci” and a tribute to British singer, Florence and the Machine.

They’ll be available from the online Gucci store from May 25th.

If Angelica’s Instagram is anything to go by… we’re in for a treat.
