Summer fun is just around the corner
Brown Thomas held their bi-annual fashion show in the Grafton Street store yesterday morning, and the style industry’s movers and shakers were out in force to see what’s coming from the luxury department store for spring summer 2017.
In addition to fashion’s stalwarts namely Dior, Chloé, Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci, and Dries van Noten (pictured above), a number of new designers were showcased including Jacquemus, Magda Butrym and Zimmerman ( a favourite of Kate Middleton no less).
Staggered hemlines continue as a key trend as you can see from the below Magda Butrym beauty.
Although the bell sleeve is big news right now, cold-shoulders are still in and this is such a chic take on a standard LBD.
I’m a huge Zimmerfan fan and you’ll probably be able to tell why from looking at the below ruffled minidress.
The pleated detail, gold floral embellishment, intricate cut-outs… it’s an actual masterpiece featuring “vintage lacing techniques” and I’m in love.
I have to give a nod to Gucci too because well, Gucci is Gucci, and the brand’s creative director Alessandro Michele has taken a ‘done’ theme like florals and brought them bang up to date.
This season, florals are groundbreaking ?✌? @brownthomas #BTSS17 pic.twitter.com/Tc4OTnA8lw

Finally, take a look at this bridal-esque design, the ‘Genesis’ gown designed by Toni Maticevski, which evokes drama and mystery and had everyone in the audience craning their necks to get a good look at such a show-stopping piece.
