Isn’t an awful cruel world that we live in?
The sheer fact that as IKEA thrives in Ireland, the property market goes down the shitter and we have to accept that we’ll never afford the house to fill with inexpensive flat pack furniture. Fuck it is grim.
Anyway, we can still dream and the latest additions to IKEA have prompted massive yearning in our DIY-loving minds.
The Scandinavian superstore has just launched their 2017 catalogue and design enthusiasts have been quick to predict the new products will form massive trends for the latter half of this year.
Just as every rental apartment in the country contains the €6 Lack table, these new additions are expected to appear frequently.
True to their Scandinavian heritage, the new designs are minimal, clean and almost industrial.
These are our favourites.
BARKABODA Countertop:
If you’re every fortunate enought to have a kitchen that’s big enough for more than a microwave – this would be a very fetching counter top to have.
ELVALRI Storage System.
IKEA are masters of the build to fit storage units and the new ELVALRI is a welcome change from the Billy Bookcase for anyone who wants to preserve the flow of light in their home.
LOBBAK Rug
This indoor/outdoor rug is only like 80 quid which is great because you can probably wrap yourself in it during those months when your heating is cut off.
SUNNERSTA Cart
These little gadgets are wonderful for anyone who needs an extra bit of storage in the kitchen.
LIXHULT Cabinet
This cabinet is flawless and I will probably buy two.
VARV Clamp Spotlight
These clamp lamps are a wonderful addition to a headboard.
GLADOM Tray Tables
This is the biggest rival to the trusty Lack table. Reasonably priced and complete on trend, expect to see them everywhere.
