Work a statement pair of shoes  Even the plainest outfit can be jazzed up with a pair of statement pumps. Add a pop of colour to a simple t-shirt and jeans combo or make the most of your summer dress. Choose a pair that is versatile enough to be worn with anything.

Go neutral In general, many French women build a neutral capsule wardrobe full of good quality pieces that will stand the test of time. Think beige trench coats, grey cashmere jumpers and flattering black skinnies. Don't forget to add in colour with your accessories and a few seasonal pieces too.
