Hollywood glamour courtesy of Marilyn Monroe inspired Jenny Packham’s spring summer 2015 collection.

During a backstage interview, Jenny said “I started noticing that I see her (Marilyn) every day in some shape or form,” she said, “and how amazing that actually is”.

She also included a “Dear Marilyn” note in her show notes which read: “I’ve read the book and listened to the recordings, visited your bungalow at the Beverly Hills and sat in your chair at the Max Factor building where you became a blonde, all the while challenging why you are still so relevant in this brave new world,” it read in part. “For me, it’s that smile that makes you ever relevant and time enduring”.

The British designer, a favourite of the Duchess of Cambridge, Christina Hendricks and Kate Winslet, showed slinky embellished gowns, voluminous floral dresses and tailored pant suits at her New York Fashion Week show yesterday.

Bursts of yellow and white were complimented by pastel pink and blue hues while darker shades of wine and black added a touch of drama.
