Too much lace?
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had a day out racing at Ascot racecourse today, where Kate opted for a white Dolce & Gabanna lace dress, topped off with a Jane Taylor hat.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love some of her ensembles (this Roland Mouret number was fab) but I can’t help thinking that this D&G number is playing it a little too safe.
Apparently, this was Kate’s first time to attend Ascot alongside her husband William and the pair looked to be having a ball as they chatted with fellow racegoers.
To be fair, the dress code at Ascot is very very strict altogether this year, (no culottes allowed) so I can see why Kate played it down but there’s way too much lace going on for my liking.
This isn’t the first time the dress has had a public outing either as the mother of two first wore it when attending the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations at Windsor Castle last month.
It was pretty difficult to see on that occasion as her red Zara swing jacket covered most of the gown.
