Kate Middleton just jumped on Meghan Markle’s favourite accessory trend

Amy Nolan

It seems Kate Middleton is emulating her sister-in-law’s style a little bit!

Yesterday, Kate Middleton stepped out to attend one of her first royal engagements since the birth of Prince Louis. Along with her husband, the Duchess of Cambridge made an appearance at the Global Mental Health Summit in London, where international leaders met to discuss the importance of mental health.

The royal couple met artist, Dario Vargas at the event, who created a painting especially for the summit. Check out the funny moment that occurred on the day here.

Just five months after the birth of her third child, the Duchess looked extremely trim and stylish as ever. Kate looked stunning with her signature bouncy blow-dry and teamed a pastel Emilia Wickstead dress with classic nude heels.

In classic Kate tradition, the dress was a recycled number from last year’s Royal Tour of Germany and Berlin with William, George and Charlotte.

But the re-worn dress was not the talking point for most people. On this occasion, Kate opted for a different accessory to her norm.

We usually see the royal stunner with an elegant clutch perfectly finishing off her ensemble, but yesterday’s event saw her holding an Aspinal cross-body. It’s available to purchase from Selfridges if you’ve got a mere £595/€680! There’s also only four left in stock.

This is a bit of a signature trend for sister-in-law Meghan Markle who’s penchant for the casual-cool style (occasion permitting!) works very well with a cross-body bag.

Clutch or no clutch though, we think Kate always looks fab and it is nice to see the Duchess experimenting with accessories a little…just don’t expect her to be sporting a bum bag anytime soon (we’d imagine!)
