Would you agree?
Meghan Markle was every inch a princess when she stepped out of the car before her wedding ceremony on Saturday morning, but not everyone loved her dress.
The now-Duchess of Sussex opted for a stunningly simple boatneck silk crepe custom gown by Givenchy for the occasion.
Given a royal tradition of detailed wedding dresses – think Kate Middleton’s lace sleeves and Diana’s puffball sleeves – Meghan’s understated look was not what many of us were expecting.
Katy Perry has had her say on the dress, saying it looked like it was almost ready.
She also revealed that she preferred the dress Kate wore for her 2011 wedding to Prince William.
“I would have done one more fitting!,” Katy told Entertainment Tonight when asked for her opinion on the gown.
“Kate won! I’m sorry! I’m never not going to tell the truth! One more fitting! But I love you!”
We do see where Katy was coming from – the dress couldn’t be called figure-hugging, nor could you say it completely lacked structure either, and many on social media appeared to share the opinion that the dress was ill-fitting.
Okay so I’m really the only one who thinks Meghan Markles dress doesn’t fit her well?? SORRY

I love her tiara & veil but I’m putting myself down as not a fan of Meghan’s dress. It seems a weird fit in the chest and hips and it’s just a bit boring?… #RoyalWedding

Ok. Unpopular opinion maybe. But should Meghan’s dress have fit her better? It was so simple not to be PERFECT. I think it looked a little big

I really liked Meghan Markle’s dress, I just wish it fitted properly. For £135k it was incredibly ill fitted in the neckline, sleeves and torso. If a dress is going to be THAT simple it should fit like a glove.

Otherwise, Katy said that she was a big fan of Meghan’s.
“It’s amazing what she’s doing… her humanitarian efforts, you know, the fact that she’s a proud feminist, I love all that,” she said.
“So I support her as another woman and love her and wish them both well.”
