Meet the gorgeous €26 Stradivarius blazer that’ll replace your denim jacket for summer

BRB, buying it in every colour.

Anna O'Rourke

Summer outerwear can feel like a mystery wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a coat that suddenly feels uncomfortably heavy.

One cliché of our Irish weather is that you never quite know what’s coming next – and never is that more true than in the summer.

Will a chunky cardigan be enough? Should you bring a rain jacket or will you get sweaty and end up carrying it? Is it better to just stay home and avoid the hassle?

These are the questions that we give far too much thought to when outfit planning each year, before eventually going bare-armed and then immediately regretting it.

It’s time for a new alternative. We’re getting behind the blazer trend this year as the answer to our confusion.

While blazers have been everywhere all spring, these next few months are when they’ll become really useful.

Blazers are light, easy to style and will dress up anything from jeans or cargo bottoms to a skirt and heels.

They make a nice change to the denim jacket we tend to live in each summer, allowing us to layer up without taking away from what’s underneath.

In terms of cost-effective options, you won’t do better than this one from Stradivarius.

It’s light and loose and would look deadly over a jeans and shorts combo or with a flowy dress.

We also love the turn-up detail on the cuffs – a nice nod to the fact that it’s sunny out without having to bare too much flesh and risk goosebumps.

It comes in a whole load of colours and costs €25.99.
