Meghan just stepped out with her mum and Harry – and we’re in LOVE with her coat

Can't beat a pop of colour.

Meghan Markle loves her neutrals but every now and again she like to go for a statement piece in a bright colour.

Meghan has stepped out at Kensington Palace today to launch her new book ‘Together: Our Community Cookbook’.

She arrived at the event flanked by her hubby Prince Harry and her mum Doria Ragland (her first royal event since her daughter’s wedding), but all eyes were firmly on the duchess and her stunning royal blue coat.

It’s by the brand Smythe and is perfect for the launch of Meghan’s first solo project as a royal – sophisticated and regal but still fun.

She’s layered it over a simple black knitted body from Tuxe and a black pleated skirt by her designer friend Misha Nonoo for the occasion.

The book raises funds for the Hubb Community Kitchen in London, set up by a group of friends to feed people affected by the Grenfell Tower Fire.

It came about after Meghan secretly visited the kitchen to volunteer as a cook alongside the women earlier this year.

Speaking at today’s launch, Meghan said she was proud to live in a city with so much diversity.

“I’m so privileged to know you.

“I’m so excited to see the projects that you are going to continue to do in your own community, the community at large and also how you are going to inspire people globally by sharing your stories and your recipes.

“It’s so impactful. We can see just in a few days alone, and the book is not even out yet, what you have been able to do.

“That’s a testament to what this means to people and I am so proud of you.”

Guests at the event even got to sample some of the recipes in the book, enjoying a lunch that included coconut chicken curry, eggplant masala and a caramelized plum upside-down cake.
