Meghan Markle to launch fashion collection for a charitable cause

Meghan Markle is to launch a collection of workwear for a charitable cause.

The Duchess of Sussex has teamed up with a number of leading retailers including Marks and Spencer, John Lewis and Jigsaw (a brand Kate Middleton used to work for back in the day FYI). Misha Nonoo, one of Meghan's close friends, is the fourth brand coming on board and as fans of the Duchess will know, she regularly wears Misha's designs, most notably for one of her first public appearances with Prince Harry.

Proceeds from the fashion line will go to Smart Works, a charity that helps unemployed women with job opportunities, including interview preparation and styling sessions. Smart Works is one of Meghan's royal patronages and the workwear line is given a mention in the September issue of British Vogue, co-edited by the mum of one.

The news was announced by royal reporter Omid Scobie and the fact that it will be released later this year has been met with great excitement. Before a job interview, Smart Works provides a two-hour session that consists of two parts, assistance with choosing a free outfit suitable for a job interview and a coaching session to prepare for the interview itself. Writing about her new project in the iconic fashion bible, Meghan wrote:

"For each item purchased by a customer, one is donated to charity. Not only does this allow us to be part of each other’s story, it reminds us we are in it together".
