They've spawned thousands of copy cat versions and are the boot of choice for some of the most stylish women in the world, so it's not surprising that the Vivienne Westwood pirate boot continues to dominate the streets.
They weren't always so popular though. The boots were first debuted in 1981 as part of Dame Viv's Pirates collection and they soon went out of production. But, when Kate Moss stepped out in pair she has picked up in vintage store Rellik in 1999, the demand for the boots soared and the designer decided to put the style back into production.

Available in black, yellow, grey, brick red and brown, the boots have been spotted on everyone from Kate's style rival Sienna Miller to Miley Cyrus and their popularity contines to soar.

So, how much will a pair of the cult classics set you back? At €445 they don't come cheap but a bit like a Burberry trench or a Chanel 2.55 bag, they'll never date or suddenly go out of fashion and are a real investment piece.
