ASOS has just changed its returns policy – here’s what you need to know

Always sending things back?

It’s a fact of shopping online – sometimes, you just have to send bits back.

Now one of our favourite retailers has updated its policy on returns.

ASOS has said that it will now be ‘taking action’ against patterns of returns that it finds suspicious.

The majority of customers won’t be affected, it said.

“We also need to make sure our returns remain sustainable for us and for the environment, so if we notice an unusual pattern, we might investigate and take action,” ASOS said in an email, reports Cosmopolitan.

“It’s unlikely to affect you, but we wanted to give you a heads up.”

Unusual patterns, it explained, include sending clothes that they suspect have been worn back for a refund and ordering and returning items in huge quantities.

There is some good news, though – ASOS is also bringing in a new policy to help you out if you miss the standard 28-day window for returns.

If you return pieces between 28 and 45 days after you receive them, you’ll get a voucher for the amount you spent.

Overall, the announcement is not the worst news – just don’t wear something and then try to return it.
