Over Floral Headbands? Have A Look At Our Festival Fashion Guide

We want EVERYTHING from this festival style edit.

Cathy Donohue

Festival fashion is often viewed as predictable, almost like wearing a uniform of denim shorts, floral headband, logo t-shirt and wellies with knee high socks.

However, there’s no rule saying you have to dress the same as everyone else and there are plenty of alternatives to suit every individual style.

This weekend is big on the Irish festival scene with Castlepalooza in Tullamore and Indiependence in Mitchelstown, Cork not to mention Electric Picnic at the end of the month.

For a relaxed look, try the Mint Velvet joggers (€69) teamed with the bright Carvela loafers (€125) featured. Seeing as you’ve clashed two prints, opt for a neutral t-shirt to balance out your look.

If you’re in a hurry and don’t have time to plan a look, this River Island maxi dress (€40) will have you festival ready with zero effort, simply add ankle boots or sandals depending on the weather.

We love the denim dress (€60) from Warehouse for a different take on shorts, the Moschino t-shirt (€165) is achingly cool and the boohoo.com multi-coloured dungarees are perfect for fun festival wear.

Best of all, these pieces can be worn all year round, add a bomber jacket or printed jumper to your outfit when it gets chilly because layering is always in fashion.

Layering also works well with jewellery: think long delicate rose gold chains, multiple midi rings and the more bangles the better.

Have a look at the gallery for the rest of our festival fashion pieces, the beautiful Saint Laurent bag from Brown Thomas is a definite wishlist piece at €1, 495 but it’s just so damn cool we had to include it!
