Earlier this year, it was confirmed that all 236 episodes of Friends had been added to Netflix.
And suffice to say that the response was one of gratitude and joy.
Now none-other than Penneys is getting in on the renewed love for the Nineties sitcom – releasing a branded cookie jar in homage to the TV show.
“As nothing will ever quite fill the Friends shaped void in our lives, we might as well try and recreate it ourselves!” a caption read on the Primark Insta page.
It was also confirmed that the item will be priced at a reasonable €14.
Otherwise, Penneys is furthermore offering us Friends-themed nightwear, throws, and duvet sets. Divine!
And for those who might need a brush-up: Friends was a huge global hit when it aired from 1994 to 2004. It follows the misadventures of six 20-something mates as they navigate work, life, and love in 1990s Manhattan.
Three years ago, to mark the show’s 21st birthday, Comedy Central held a FriendsFest – a week-long festival that ran from September 16-20 in London.
Speaking about the event at the time, Comedy Central said: “Friends is hugely popular, with almost 5.9 million people tuning in to watch it on Comedy Central each month.”
Indeed, the event proved such a huge hit that it’s back again this year – and this time it’s going on the road too: it’s already taken in Glasgow and is currently in Newcastle.
The FriendsFest furthermore travels to Manchester, Brighton, and London – although some dates are already sold-out.
Let’s hope the organisers come to Ireland in 2019! In the meantime, we’ll be embracing the range at Penneys.
