Penneys New York has opened and the store is absolutely UNREAL

Gillian Fitzpatrick

We still firmly believe that as an Irish concept born-and-bred, the very best Penneys stores are on home soil.

However, we have to say that the just newly-opened Staten Island outlet in New York is seriously out of this world.

Appropriately opening yesterday – just in time for Paddy’s Day – it represents a seventh US unveiling for Penneys, which trades internationally as Primark (Ireland is special, like).

Sprawling over an impressive 5,100 sq metres (bigger than the retailer’s flagship Mary Street branch in Dublin), it boasts the likes of phone-charging docks, Wi-Fi, and more than 40 super-big changing rooms.

What in particular caught our eye? The oodles of flip-flops on offer (like, so fecking many) and the Home section – which looks all sorts of incredible.

However, and while we could chat all day about what’s on offer – we reckon that the insider snaps really do speak for theselves.

Here’s a selection of wow-factor pics… (trip to the Big Apple, anyone?!):
