Hmmmmm….
It looks like another day, another brand getting in hot water for insensitivity. This time it’s New Look with a bizarre night shirt.
A shirt which reads “my heart says donuts but my jeans say juicing” is stirring up quite a storm on Twitter as people feel it is promoting “juicing”. A fad diet which in recent years has seen people taking it to extremes by eating no solid food and only drinking juice in a bid for quick-fix weight loss which nutritionists have claimed is both unhealthy and unsustainable.
The nightwear garment which is currently on-sale for €5 has been called a contributor to eating disorders by one user on social media.
SIIIIIIGH. @NewLookFashion @NewLookHelp contributing to eating disorders I see ????? https://t.co/NBoKtU4rrB

While others thought about the impact it would have on the younger generation…
@newlookfashion do you actually discuss this at buying meetings and all agree that this works for young girls? In 2017? Really? https://t.co/vSVvwm5xWv

Fashion should empower women to feel incredible, that’s how you win at marketing. Instead @NewLookFashion promote fad diets #cleanseyourPR https://t.co/XGghWt60Ap

Looks like they still haven’t learnt! Disappointed that they haven’t responded/addresses this.
