Iconic dresses belonging to Princess Diana are to go on sale at an auction in Beverley Hills.

Some of the stunning pieces were designed by Catherine Walker, a renowned fashion designer and close friend of Diana’s.

Catherine first met the Princess three months after she married Prince Charles and remained close to her until Diana passed away in a tragic car accident in 1997.

A pink gown worn by Diana to the reopening of the Savoy Theatre will go on sale, together with the emerald green dress (pictured below) that she wore to a banquet at The Dorchester Hotel in 1993.

The People’s Princess was widely loved and respected and in homage to her style, we recently dedicated a feature to celebrate Princess Diana’s most iconic looks on the 17th anniversary of her death.

The auction will also offer the chance to purchase a slice of William and Kate’s wedding cake presented in a white and gold inscribed tin.

It’s likely to cost a pretty penny though considering previous slices have been bought in the past for as much as £2,597.
