Save, Steal or Splurge – See Which You Can Buy For €30, €100 and €520

We're loving the Zara piece!

Cathy Donohue

This series is all about bringing you the best for your budget: so whether you have €30 or €300 to spend, we have something to suit.

Last week, we featured trench coats on account of the torrential rain and next up is capes, as they’re a huge trend for autumn winter 2014.

It’s interesting to see if you can tell the cheap option from the more expensive and you might be surprised to see what each one works out at.

€24, at New Look

If you’re looking for a cheap but practical option, then this cape might be exactly what you need. Checks are huge for this autumn winter season and this will look just as good draped over your favourite jeans as it does with a woollen dress.

€24, at New Look.

€99.95 at Zara

How soft and snuggly does this look?! We imagine this is pretty much like wearing a soft blanket and that sounds good to us. The hood is brilliant for Irish weather because let’s face it, the rain isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. We’re also LOVING the very cool monochrome print, snap it up now.

€99.95 at River Island.

€520, DKNY at Brown Thomas

This piece is more expensive, but the difference is this cape will last you for more than just one style season. The neutral colour and tailored cut ensure this is one item you will reintroduce into your wardrobe every winter. If you feel like splashing out on a special piece, this is definitely one to consider.
