Smokey pink hair is a big trend right now and we think it's SO cool

It’s subtle, pretty and effortlessly cool.

While some people resolutely stick to the same hairstyle year round, others are more adventurous and willing to try out some class colour trends.

There must be something in the air at the moment because plenty of celebs are choosing to refresh their locks.

Ariana Grande has chopped her signature pony and Meghan Markle has also opted for a shorter do.

If you’ve got the itch for a bit of a change, we’ve spotted such a cool colour trend – smokey pink hair!

Harper’s Bazaar recently spoke to one of London’s most influential hairdressers, Adam Reed, co-owner of Percy & Reed salons and editorial ambassador for L’Oréal Professionnel. He mentioned a couple of colour trends that look stunning without being exceptionally high-maintenance and one of them was smokey pink.

While pink has always been a popular hair trend, this version of the look is more subtle, as Reed told the publication:

“Smoky pink is a grown-up version of pink hair and is soft and sooty with smoky, sophisticated undertones – it’s cool and definitely not flat.”

He also advised:

“If you also add a cool grey root to smoky pink it suits most skin tones and gives pink hair a modern, almost elegant, update too.”
