River Island's brand new velvet dress is my current obsession.

The Black Velvet Puff Dress from River Island is priced at €65 and could we be any more obsessed?! Velvet is what you might call a divisive fabric, if you're into it then you can't have enough velvet in your life but if you're not, you probably can't bear the thought of touching the stuff. However, I am very much into it and have just spotted a River Island piece that is total perfection. The gold hardware, the velvet texture, the belted detail...it is just perfection and the kind of smart purchase you'll get so much wear from. It also features puff sleeves, aka the biggest trend of autumn-winter 2019, and yet another reason to pick it up before it sells out. We love how it's been styled here with biker boots (FAB) but it's the type of versatile piece that you can do so much with. Better still is the fact that you'll have a dress like this one for years to come and will be able to wear it season after season, ideal, really. Another must-have piece that deserves a mention is the organza blouse featuring a delightful floral print. The heart-shaped buttons add a statement touch and it will dress up your favourite jeans in an instant. It would look equally fab with a leather mini, pencil skirt or culottes and that's the kind of piece that's going to become your new wardrobe must-have. Even the gals from River Island's Style Studio can't get enough and it's been described as the "blouse they can't get enough of". Sounds about right!
