We’re living in a time where fashion and technology go hand in hand – and the latest to come from it is jeans that ‘contour’ your bum.

To be fair, there have been numerous companies trying to market their jeans as ‘bum-shaping’, and it seems that using technology might be the way to go forward.

Debuting a London Fashion week, Lee Jeans launched the Body Optix collection, which is a line of 16 jeans designed with laser technology to enhance the body with “optical illusions and lighting.”

“This collaboration between designers and scientists, you see this all the time at Apple, you see it at Tesla, but you don’t see it in our industry and I think it’s really the future; it’s very exciting,” said Steve Zades, Vice President at VF design lab.

VF scientists used specialised textiles and lasers to design the jeans which use “total anatomy shading,” to outline your curves.

The jeans also have ‘curved pockets’ to “help slim and shape the wearer.”

“Once the consumer sees the benefit of these optical designs — they are going to want to see it delivered in lots of ways,” Steve added.

After initially launching in Japan earlier this year, Lee’s Body Optix styles will be available in Europe in March 2018.
