The Today Show Will Host The Biggest Irish TV Make Over Today to Celebrate Daffodil Day

Cassie Delaney

Today Show presenters Dáithí Ó Sé and Maura Derrane are holding a mega makeover of Cancer Survivors on today’s show to mark Daffodil Day.

Twenty Cancer survivors will be made over by hairdressers from Sobe Brown and Benefit makeup artists.

The twenty participants come from the Cork Dragons Boat Team which was set up in 2012 to support and inspire men and women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Tara Sheridan was one of the founding members of the group, and sadly passed away in 2014. The group named the boat in her honour, picking her colours and say she is always with them on the water.

They will be out on the water again in April on board the Tara Warrior Princess and are truly an inspiration for everyone going through cancer.

Caroline Warren, chairperson of the Cork Dragons says:

“It was absolutely fantastic to be taken away from the treadmill and rollercoaster of cancer treatment and Chemo and be pampered. Everyone is so happy to be spoilt rotten by the Today Show team, It gives the team a boost just in time for our Saint Patrick’s Day Parade appearance in Cork. We’ll be pushing a Dragon Boat all the way along the parade route.”

Presenter of the Today Show Dáithí Ó Sé said:

“We took on the mammoth task of making over twenty of the Cork Dragons on the Today Show – they are such an inspiration to everyone who has gone through, or is going through cancer treatment. To them nothing is impossible, and we arranged this mega makeover to show them how much we admire them and underline the fantastic work of the Irish Cancer Society at the same time.”
