It seemed for a while there that the Ugg was dead and gone.
However, if people who design clothes and fashion houses know anything (and, let's be honest, they probably do), the Ugg is about to make its return in a big, and questionable, way.
... In the form of the thigh-high Ugg boot.
There it is there now.
Thigh-high. Ugg. Boot.
So many layers. So much fluff. So... Baggy.
You will never be able to unsee the above images, and we do apologise, but the existence of this boot is simply not something that we could keep to ourselves.
The boots in question made their debut this week at Paris Fashion Week Men's Y/Project.
Following the assortment of Uggs that made their way down the runway, Y/Project's creative director, Glenn Martens issued a statement regarding the boot.
He was probably forced to, in fairness.
He said:
"The Ugg Classic boot is one of the most recognisable shoes in history. It’s timeless and challenging design made it a worldwide statement. "Y/Project is about challenges. Since launch we’ve been twisting the grounded codes, we challenged the acceptable and triggered people by putting focus on the unexpected."We mean. You're not wrong, Glenn. You're not wrong.
The price of these Uggs is thought to go all the way up to a grand (literally €1,000).
So, if they are to your taste, you'd want to stop buying that avocado toast ASAP and put a bit of cash aside for these beauties.Explore more on these topics:
