This €30 Zara bag is a dead ringer for a very popular Gucci one

Dying to get our hands on this.

Anna O'Rourke

Someday we’ll get the real thing, but this is a pretty good dupe.

Belt bags (or bum bags or fannypacks or whatever your having yourself) are surely one of the most out-there trends of the season.

It takes us back to the early nineties, when holidays meant your mother or father had one of these bad boys permanently strapped around their middle.

Times have changed (thank God) and now a belt bag makes you look like a girl from a street style board on Pinterest.

Lots of brands are doing them (we wouldn’t say no to that gorgeous Prada one) but Gucci’s chevron quilted bag, or the GG Marmot, to give it its proper name, is definitely the most popular with fashion industry folk.

Sadly, the Gucci is hella expensive – prices start at €850, which is a lot to spend on a trend piece that you’d struggle to get an iPhone X into.

We’ve been scouring the high street for dupes and while there are plenty, Zara’s offering is our favourite.

While it’s a slightly different shape, it has the same quilted pattern and gold detailing.

It’s also pretty versatile – there’s a strap to go over your shoulder if you’re not feeling the belt bag look.

It’s €29.99 and comes in red too.
