Have you heard of the LÖVBACKEN?
Last year, IKEA celebrated a huge milestone – and re-released a bunch of iconic products to celebrate.
The Re-Imagined Classics collection was launched to celebrate the company’s 75th birthday and includes some seriously stylish pieces.
Including the LÖVBACKEN side table.
The three-legged side table was actually IKEA’s very first flat-pack product – and we’re already plotting out our trip to IKEA to get one…or two (or there’s always the option to get it online).
At just €50, it’s a total bargain that is not only gorgeous, but it will definitely stand the test of time.
According to some experts, the limited-edition product will only appreciate in value – with one company predicting it could be worth thousands in the years to come.
Swedish-based auction website Barnebys has predicted that within the next 12 years, the table could be worth anywhere between €1,100 to €2,000 – and it’s only going to get better.
By 2040, the site is projecting that the table’s value will increase to between €3,300 and €5,500.
Barnebys co-founder Pontus Silfverstolpe revealed the estimations in a piece on the company’s website, titled Future Antiques That Could be Hiding in Our Homes.
He explained:
“Selling for thousands at some of Sweden’s leading auction houses, the LÖVBACKEN has become a collectible for the most discerning of furniture experts.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if the development in its value continues in the future.”
