This new Irish company is perfect for last minute birthday presents

Rebecca O'Keeffe

irish company

We’ve all been there.

Picture the scene:

It’s your dad’s birthday, and you have no idea what to get him.

You ask him what he’d like… he responds with “Ah sure I’m grand, there’s nothing I need!”

Helpful.

You probably end up buying him a book he won’t read, or a DVD he won’t watch.

Listen, we’ve all been there lads.

But now, we have a sweet saviour, that will forever solve our dad-birthday debacle.

Introducing: Hidden Gent.

Who loves Paisley? Introducing the Chestnut Style Box.

This lovely company was set up by two Irish lads, who noticed a gap in the market for decent gifts for men.

Hidden Gent is a website where you can buy gift boxes for men, that contain socks, ties, cufflinks and other man-faves.

Think of it like a birchbox, but for men.

I had a little chat with Sam, co-founder of Hidden Gent, about how the company started.

“Myself and Ruairi met on Dells graduate program here in Dublin.”

“We quit our jobs in 2017 and started talking about this idea in January 2018. We decided we did not want to use anything that was made in China so scoured Europe for the contents of the boxes.”

“This made them a little more expensive to put together than if we just purchased from China but the quality is so much better.”

“Our main target market is women who are not sure what to buy the men in their lives.”

Hey, that’s literally every gal I know!

There's no longer an excuse for boring socks. Upgrade yours today.

“We feel this is the absolute perfect gift at the perfect price. Secondly, fashion conscious men who, like us are bored of being ripped off by the high street for plain, poor quality accessories.”

“There is little chance you could buy the contents of our box on the high street for less than €100 and its unlikely the quality would be the same even if you could.”

The boxes cost a reasonable €50 each.

You just can’t go wrong, tbh!
