This stunning wedding dress trend is going to be a BIG deal next year

Cathy Donohue

We just love this wedding dress trend.

When the world’s leading global designers launched their upcoming bridal collections, there was one very striking look.

Princess-length dresses were very popular and as the royal wedding received a lot of attention, it’s no major surprise really that the trend for big dresses has translated to the catwalk.

Meghan Markle’s dress was simple but that stunning veil took centre stage while we all remember Kate Middleton’s lace Alexander McQueen creation.

Opulent fabrics, cathedral-length trains, embellishment to lace, the level of detail is second to none with these brand-new wedding designs.

I mean, look at this stunning creation.

Backless? Tick. Beautiful lacework? Tick. Breath-taking train? Tick.

And this is another amazing piece. Bridal dresses just reached a new level of OMG gorgeous.

We love the fact that the Bardot style shoulder updates the trend, making it fresh and relevant for a new fashion season.

There’s also these stunning designs from Reem Acra. Full skirts and intricate embroidery won’t be for everyone but we are genuinely in love with the bridal looks leading the way for 2019.

Absolutely angelic. #ReemAcraWedding #ReemAcra . . . #bridal #wedding #fashion

This design from Theia even includes a crown/tiara and that’s it, there’s no getting away from the princess theme now.

Kerry native Don O’Neill is the creative director of Theia and we absolutely adore his big and bold bridal visions.
