This quick test will tell you if your clothes are good quality

It couldn't be easier.

Megan Roantree

It’s very simple.

Just because most of your clothes are a bargain from the high-street doesn’t necessarily mean they are bad quality, and if you spend a fortune on designer clothes there is no guarantee the quality will be amazing. So it’s all a bit of a gamble really!

You might come home with a new shirt you absolutely love only to find it lose its shape on the hanger in your wardrobe or fall apart after two washes.

There are a few factors that can help to tell while you’re in the shop, so you don’t have to wait until you’re home and it’s already paid for to see what the quality is like.

For example checking the strength of the zipper and the neatness of the hem can help.

There is one test that people swear by, which couldn’t be easier.

The scrunch and pull test involved exactly what you think it does.

The idea is that you take the garment, scrunch it up into a ball in your fist and hold it for a few seconds.

If the item of clothing looks stretched out after the scrunch test, it’s likely that it’s not very well made. But, if it goes back to its original shape, you’re in luck.
