This type of engagement ring is set to be a top seller in 2018

It all makes sense.

It’s just gorgeous.

Although white gold has been the most popular choice for engagement rings of late, yellow gold could be about to make a comeback.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s engagement is the source of much attention at the moment and the ring, featuring diamonds from Princess Diana’s jewellery collection is truly stunning.

Meghan opted for yellow gold with Harry saying that this was her favourite and experts think this could kickstart a trend with this ring style becoming a popular choice for brides-to-be in 2018.

Of course, it’s not a new look by any means but yellow gold had lost favour somewhat in recent years with platinum and white gold becoming best-sellers.

Chloe Nalbantian is the style director at Bridebook and in conversation with The Huffington Post, she explained how the Duchess of Cambridge’s ring caused an influx of requests for white gold engagement tings.

It stands to reason than that Meghan’s choice of yellow gold could have the same effect next year.

Chloe explained why it’s a winning choice for an engagement ring too:

“It is sure to pick up in popularity particularly because it is such a flattering colour for most skin tones.

“It adds a ‘warmth’ to diamond rings, with the contrast between cool bright diamonds and the gold band a winning combination”.

If you’re not convinced about yellow gold, have a look at some of these stunning pieces. That sparkle…

Not only is yellow gold likely to become the ‘in’ thing, we might be about to see more ‘three stone’ rings too as opposed to the traditional solitaire.

In other news, Meghan and Harry have just announced the date and venue for their wedding, May 2018 in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
