Our top 10 favourite looks from the American Music Awards red carpet

Olivia Hayes

There were certainly some lewks.

The 2019 American Music Awards took place last night and there were many striking moments to take from it.

Taylor Swift stuck it to The Man with her entire performance and speech.

Kesha delighted every audience member by performing her old banger Tik Tok.

And we realised Post Malone is all of us when Shania Twain comes on the radio.

It was a night full of fun and mischief, however, we’re taking it back to the red carpet, where the outfits and getups were even more striking than the drama that went down. I mean, just look at the likes of Lizzo and Halsey. Stealing. The. Show. Ladies.

For us, we went for people who were a little bit different, and picked out 10 favourites:

Alyson Stoner

Wearing an aluminium low-cut bodice and a sequined over-sized suit, Alyson’s look was certainly out-there. Pairing the look with dangling silver earrings and edgy makeup, the entire outfit worked effortlessly on her.

Lizzo

Hello, Lizzo! Is there any look that Lizzo can’t rock? For the American Music Awards, the singer opted for a one-shoulder, ruffled, coral mini-dress. She paired it with white strappy heels and a now-infamous tiny Valentino bag.

Selena Gomez

What a comeback! Selena Gomez made her comeback to the red carpet wearing a stunning lime green Versace dress. She paired the look with matching heels, a diamond necklace and cut her hair into a gorgeous bob. We stan.

Cobie Smulders

Is there anyone who looks as effortlessly cool as Cobie Smulders? The actress wore a Dundas outfit which consisted of a gold, sparkling dress and matching blazer, Jimmy Choo heels and jewellery by Tiffany & Co. She finished the look with loose waves and simple makeup.

Lil Nas X

Does he ever disappointed on the red carpet? Lil Nas X wore a neon green tuxedo from Christopher John Rogers and had a zebra print top underneath which he matched to his gloves. Can we also give a shout-out to his square-toe heels by United Nude? Thanks.

Kelly Osbourne

Kelly Osbourne took gothic glamour to a new level last night. Wearing a velvet, long-sleeved dress by The Vampire’s Wife, she paired it with a black velvet bow. I also absolutely adore her hair and makeup. Slick, sophisticated and totally glamorous.

Billie Eilish

Could she be any cooler? Billie Eilish is never one to bow down to usual fashion choices and that showed last night. The singer wore a custom Burberry outfit which included a diamond-encrusted beekeeper hat with matching sleeves. A proper lewk, if you will.

Halsey

This is probably our favourite look from the entire night. Halsey is always a little bit out there and we adore the dress she donned on the AMAs red carpet. The singer wore a stunning Marc Jacobs gown, which reminded us a little bit of Rihanna’s outfit that she wore to the 2018 Met Gala.

Jamie Lee Curtis

Sorry, but we have to give a nod to Jamie Lee Curtis. While everyone was dressed in massive dresses, bright colours and OTT makeup, Jamie Lee paired it back and simply wore a Valentino jumper and Alexandre Vauthier pants – and she looked every bit as fab as those with ball gowns.

Ciara

I absolutely adore this look. Ciara took to the AMA red carpet wearing a complete Balmain look. With bell bottoms and an oversized blazer, she wore her long hair waved. The most striking piece about her look is the oversized necklace that doubled as bralette. 5 stars for this outfit.
