As the last big festival weekend of the year approaches, we’re just beginning to turn our thoughts to winter wardrobes.

Fear not if you hate waving goodbye to summer though, you do still have time for a day out or two before that nip in the air becomes a permanent fixture.

If you’re not Picnic bound this weekend, why not try out a day trip with a difference? Our friends at Kildare Village have just the thing, combining a wardrobe update with a great day out.

Day Trip to Chic is the latest initiative by those fashionable folks at Kildare Village, in partnership with fashion blogger Tara Marzuki. Tara has collaborated with designer mecca Kildare Village to create five such Day Trips, so every week this month we’re  checking back in and sharing a video of Tara in one of five stunning locations.

For each video, blogger Tara will be sporting a look sourced from the boutiques of Kildare Village, where you too can find divine designer buys at 60% off the RRP all year round.

With the kids now back at school why not take advantage of some quiet time to browse the autumn winter new arrivals at Kildare Village and grab a coffee in the wonderful surrounds of Dublin 8. This week, Tara is exploring the area, so you can take some inspiration from her trip!

Tara’s Day Trip to Dublin 8

Tara writes:

“Exploring Dublin 8 was a jam-packed day trip, there is so much to see and do; stop by the park at Christ Church Cathedral, grab a coffee with friends, wander along Francis Street taking in the antiques or spend some of the day in the beautiful surroundings of the Irish Museum of Modern Art. For this look something with a more casual shape came to mind – casual doesn’t have to mean boring though! Play up colours and prints in classic shapes, for example I adore cow print, and these trousers from French Connection were no exception. I decided on the lime green jacket from Karen Millen to make the look even more fun, which you can definitely get away with if the rest of your outfit is monochrome. A tote for exploring the city is perfect, this white one from Furla will hold everything you need and the colour will go with just about anything in your wardrobe.”
